THE FORMATION OF CHER
In 1984 CCI created the CHER Foundation division to handle health care programs. CHER stands for Chiropractic Health – Education – Research. These areas require the ability of CCI to obtain the necessary funding through public support.
CHIROPRACTIC HEALTH: CCI believes that Chiropractic is for everyone, and not just for those who have insurance or the financial ability to pay. Everything from scoliosis screenings to low income health care is offered through the CHER programs.
EDUCATION: There are three programs in the educational division of CHER:
The First is student education and seminars.
The Second area is to offer seminars for field doctors.
The Third area is one of the most important - Public Awareness.
CCI wants to assist the profession in creating a greater public understanding of the benefits and advantages of natural health care services and what Chiropractic has to offer in helping reach and maintain a greater state of improved health.
RESEARCH: One of the most important things to the profession is the continual process of validating what Chiropractic is and what it can do in relationship to overall health. This is essential for governmental, philanthropic and public acceptance, as well as the realization of a better solution to so many health challenges.
INTERNATIONAL: Ongoing funding is the most essential element for these programs. CCI is developing: CHER Foundation – China CHER Foundation – Malaysia CHER Foundation – Brunei All of these divisions will have the ongoing responsibility of seek continuous funding to support the programs which will be instituted in their respective countries.
